Biography

Cutler Real Estate asked Janet a few questions so you can get to know her better, and here are Janet's replies.

1. What is your professional/educational background?

I received my BA in Art and a minor in Business from the University of Mount Union. I have worked as an IT professional doing web and graphic design for the past 16 years.

2. Why did you choose a career in real estate?

I have always had an interest in real estate ever since I sold my condo by myself in 2005. I've always been interested in the process of preparing a house for sale. This interest was re-sparked last year when I cleaned our my Mom's house and prepared to put it up for sale.

3. What area do you live in currently and what do you like about where you live?

I live in the Forest Lake development in Kent. I grew up in Kent, but I lived in Washington DC areas for nearly 22 years since graduation from college. I always missed the welcoming and friendly environment of smaller Midwestern town. Kent has the best of both worlds. It houses a larger university so it has a good mixture of residents from all walks of life, plus it has a small town feel but is within an hour of a major metropolitan area. It has a slower pace when you need it to be slow, but you can add as much excitement as you desire!

4. How do you spend your free time?

I enjoy travel, spending time with family and friends going out to eat good food at new restaurants, drinking wine, watching our son play Hockey, bowling, watching sports and reality tv, exploring new places with my husband, and enjoying time with our family dog, Blue.

5. If you could only keep 5 possessions what would they be?

  1. Wedding ring
  2. photo album
  3. cell phone
  4. comfy shoes
  5. passport

6. In one word, how do you think your friends/family would describe you?

We had an amazing experience with Janet! Knowledgeable on the market, was always available to her clients (made us feel we were her too priority at all times) and was extremely easy to work with. We would absolutely recommend her and work with her again.

Communicative, thorough, and flexible all describe Janet Dauber. Janet answered texts quickly, and kept us informed during the buying process. In addition, Janet grew up in Northeast Ohio, so she knows the area. Moving away to a big city for much of her adult life made Janet appreciate the charm of Kent and the surrounding area. Finally, Janet’s advertising is great. She has a social media presence and a regular email letter for her clients and potential clients. I would certainly use Janet again when I am looking to buy or sell.
