Cutler Real Estate asked Julianne a few questions so you can get to know her better, and here are Julianne's replies.
1. What is your professional/educational background?
I am a graduate from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. I have been a nurse for 28 years at The Ohio State University Medical Center working in cardiology care for my entire career. I have worked in the ICU and outpatient setting taking care of patients who have suffered heart attacks and heart failure. I currently work in the Electrophysiology Lab assisting physicians who perform atrial fibrillation ablations or surgical placement of cardiac pacemakers.
2. Why did you choose a career in real estate?
I can retire from Ohio State from nursing in the next 3 years. I will only be 52 years old which is too young to stop working entirely. I have always been very interested in the real estate profession and think that a career in real estate would be a great second phase career path for me. I decided this past year to go ahead and pursue real estate now. Why wait until retirement? Once I decided that this is what I wanted to do for my future I couldn't wait to get started. I love being a nurse. It has taught me to advocate for people, empathize, and teach. It can be a stressful job but I believe that the skills I have gained will help me successfully help people with perhaps the biggest financial decisions of their lives and will provide me with satisfaction that I helped a person or a couple through the process of buying or selling a home.
3. What area do you live in currently and what do you like about where you live?
I currently live in New Albany, Ohio. New Albany is a small and "master-planned" community that is quiet, with a country-like setting, yet it is a quick drive, 20-minute drive to downtown Columbus and 10 minutes to Easton for shopping. According to city data, the population is only 10,000 which makes it a smaller suburb of Columbus. New Albany is growing in so many ways that it continues to grow and maintain the economic stability of the community. Despite the recent growth, New Albany still maintains the "small town" feel. Safety is important to me as it is everyone, and New Albany has a very low crime rate. My kids are in the New Albany school system and the schools consistently receive excellent ratings every year. There are lots of recreation; Rose Run Park will open this fall, many walking trails, bike trails throughout New Albany. New Albany is a very family-oriented community, we have wonderful neighbors and family is very happy to call New Albany home.
4. How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my husband Scott and our two children, Brady and Erin. I enjoying walking my new dog Leo and I look forward to Spring, when I can attempt to teach Leo agility tricks in my back yard. I like to bike and I enjoying landscape/gardening, home decorating and crafting/art. My husband and I love movies and collecting memorabilia.
5. If you could only keep 5 possessions what would they be?
- My family
- My glasses
- My photos
- My bed
- My iPad
6. In one word, how do you think your friends/family would describe you?
