Cutler Real Estate asked Vicki a few questions so you can get to know her better, and here are Vicki's replies.

1. What is your professional/educational background?

BA Journalism/Public Relations from The Ohio State University 1993. 14 years in various aspects of customer service including corporate sales training, quality control and customer satisfaction. Licensed in Real Estate in 2007.

2. Why did you choose a career in real estate?

I truly think the biggest sense of pride and accomplishment is the day I bought my first home. Since then I remembered that feeling and loved the idea of helping other people fulfill their dreams of home ownership. I always knew that owning a home has emotion attached to it and knew I could incorporate that into helping people sell homes they have made memories in and have compassion and empathy and patience along the way. I believed I could make a difference with my clients because I know that this isn't always about's about much more that money can't buy.

3. What area do you live in currently and what do you like about where you live?

I live in Hilliard. I was born in Pittsburgh but moved here as a little girl and while I left for a very short time to go to college( which wasn't far as I went to The Ohio State University) and then lived for a short time in the Clintonville area...I have been here ever since. I chose to raise my two boys in my hometown b/c of what it was and what it has become. Hilliard has grown so much since the mid 70's but still holds that hometown feel for me. I love the community and the diversity of the people and cultures. There are so many things to do and different neighborhoods for all demographics allowing my children to grow up with a sense of what the world is about. It's one of the best cities to raise a family!

4. How do you spend your free time?

reading, walking, drinking wine with friends, working in the yard, taking care of my two boys and spending date nights with my husband trying new restaurants around town.

5. If you could only keep 5 possessions what would they be?

  1. wedding rings
  2. my boys keepsake boxes
  3. my grandmother's wedding dress I wore on my own wedding
  4. my phone
  5. my bottle of Poetry wine

6. In one word, how do you think your friends/family would describe you?

Halsted Triangle

Division to North and Halsted to the Chicago River mark the busy area deemed the Halsted Triangle.  This neighborhood is heavily commercial and retail; there is very little that couldn’t be found in one of the shops in the area.  Therefore, this area serves more as a shopping hub than a residential area, though a few condominiums and lofts are scattered about.

Pullman is full of historic and architecturally significant buildings, among them are the Hotel Florence, the Arcade Building which was destroyed in the 1920s, the Clock Tower and Factory, the complex surrounding Market Square and Greenstone Church. Pullman is also home to one of Chicago's many beautiful 'Polish Cathedrals', the former church of St. Salomea, which is now used by Salem Baptist Church of Chicago. Pullman was one of seven sites that were nominated for the Illinois Seven Wonders sites in a contest sponsored by the Illinois...
